A modernist identity for a café in Brasília

I created the full visual identity for Pingado Café & Mercearia, a café in Brasília serving local, artisanal food made with ingredients from small family producers.
A modernist legacy
Brazil’s development boom of the 1950s and 60s left a modernist legacy in the country’s landscape and in people’s memories. The brand uses that everyday design to evoke nostalgia: packaging and signs from old factories and groceries, and the forms of Brazilian architects and designers of the era. The palette comes from Brazil’s sky, land and culture.
The name
“Pingado” means something that drips. It is also the name of a very Brazilian hot drink made of milk, coffee and sugar, served at the counter of any bakery.
Deliverables
Logo and signage, patterns, typography and palette, bags, cards, cups, staff uniforms, tiles, interior ambience and brand guidelines.
